Silver Medallist Bloom 2017 in the Flower and Garden Pavilion.
This year Western Plant Nursery exhibited at Bloom in the Park with a clever design put together over the course of several months by Jack. Plants were identified early in the season at the nursery for special attention. Every specimen must look its best and be timed to flower at just the right moment, this takes some careful planning (planting list available here). Jack spent days combing the beaches of Sligo searching for driftwood, old rope, bouys, and other flotsam. These items became the dressing for the coastal planting centrepieces.
Bloom is a fantastic show held every year in the Phoenix Park, Dublin. It is an opportunity to showcase all our hard work and we rub shoulders with nurseries ten times our size. Regardless Western Plant Nursery inhabits a space in the market which is otherwise neglected, that of the coastal gardener.
