Climbers

Parthenocissus tricuspidata

Climbing plants are a great way of using vertical space in the garden.

There are three main ways that plants climb;

1.  Plants that climb by twining themselves through a host plant (Wisteria, Clematis).

2.  Climbers that will grown special roots or pads that will sucker on to a wall (Ivy and Parthenocissus).

3.  Shrubs that can be trained to climb (wall shrubs) but would not ordinarily be climbers (Ceanothus, Euonymus).
